Camella (Mia) Potter, ND received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Natural Medicine. Dr. Potter attended the University of California, Berkeley for undergraduate studies where she obtained her bachelors degree in Nutritional Science. Before attending naturopathic medical school, she worked in nutritional research at Oregon Health and Science University and the Cancer Prevention Institute of California (formerly Northern California Cancer Center). She also worked in research with breast cancer survivors and men with prostate cancer at Oregon Health and Science University. She spent time working overseas in Senegal, West Africa and served as a nutritionist in a medical office.
After completing medical school and becoming a licensed physician, Dr. Potter began working at a thriving integrative primary care clinic with nurse practitioners, an osteopathic doctor, medical doctor, chiropractor and behavioral health specialists. Her extensive primary care experience with over 2,000 appointments in one year, gives her a strong foundation to treat naturopathically with the understanding of conventional medical treatments and methodology. She has also been trained in natural foot care at Northwest Foot & Ankle. She also served as adjunct faculty at the Helfgott Research Institute teaching nutrition to graduate students.
Dr. Potter was formally a competitive gymnast, ultimate Frisbee player and runner. She currently participates in yoga, running, biking, boot camp classes and keeping up with her son and daughter. Her athletic background, combined with her medical education gives her a robust approach to her patients and their needs.
The strong foundation of sciences from her undergraduate and graduate education, balanced with the botanical medicine, homeopathy, Shiatsu massage and auricular seed therapy training she received in medical school provide diverse care for patients. She is passionate about educating and empowering people to have healthier lives. She enjoys creating individualized treatment plans while walking with patients in their personal health journeys. She specializes in digestive problems, hormonal issues, autoimmune diseases, depression/anxiety and natural foot care.
